Jaiyansing (Shailen) Soobah, is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds a Master in Business Administration. He started his career with a Big – 4 audit firm, where he spent 10 years in their audit and offshore departments. He subsequently moved to the Financial Services Commission, where he was officer-in-charge of the insurance supervision department.

He practiced as sole practitioner for more than 20 years. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry in insurance, investment dealing, wealth management and structured products.

He is a member of the UK Chartered Governance Institute and has been leading the governance, risk and compliance function of the largest listed insurance group in Mauritius. Shailen is well versed with financial laws and money laundering legislations. He is a non-executive director of The Stock Exchange of Mauritius Ltd and Central Depository & Settlement Co Ltd.
